My story

Corsi e formazione

1976

My career begins in some Florence-based radio stations under the pseudonym Antonio Stavini.

In the following years I worked in discos as well, but my greatest passion would always remain the radio.

I must mention my friends Giovanni Cappelletti and Roberto Vasarri, the owners of Radio Zero (Monevarchi), who believed in myself giving me the possibility to grow up in a professional environment.

In 1978, Radio Zero was one of the few private radio stations in Tuscany to cover the great part of the region and that’s why it was possible to listen to it almost uninterruptedly from Genoa to Grosseto.

1979

I got to be part of the staff of Radio Tele Arno (Fiesole), another important radio station Here, the mixing console was placed just in front of a large window from where I could admire the dome of Florence – an inspiration for all those who were taking turns at the microphone.

Let alone the pool and the kitchen, something that was unbelievable at that time considering that most radio stations were located in garages, attics, studio apartments and other places adapted to purpose.

Then, I also worked for Radio Fantasy (Florence) and Radio One (Florence) for a very short time.

1984

After joining the staff of Radio Fantasy, I hosted “Chattanooga” with Leonardo Pieraccioni and Niki Giustini.

Then, I recorded the song “Radio Rap” together with other colleagues who were working for the same radio station, including Carlo Conti, Leonardo Pieraccioni, Niki Giustini, Gianfranco Monti, Marco Baldini and others (not everyone would participate in the recording).

1985

I joined Associazione Italiana Disk Jockey (Italian association of disk jockeys), whose president is Renzo Arbore. Later that year, I entered SIDAS – Sindacato Italiano Disk Jockey, Animatori e Speaker (Italian union of disk jockeys, entertainers and voice-overs).
